The Development of Sporting Events and their Impact on the Spanish Economy

Abstract

In Spain there is an intense link between the local economy and sport, and its directly related industries. Football in particular is among the country's leading industries in terms of generating wealth and opportunities, taking into account jobs, taxes and turnover. In this sense, the Spanish cities that have applied to host the 2030 World Cup are waiting with great expectation to be effectively designated.
