Acute Response of Myofascial Self-Release Associated with Ankle Joint Mobility in Cross Training Practitioners

Abstract

The ankle joint needs stability and good range of motion (ROM) in the sagittal plane to improve physical performance and prevent injuries in Cross Training (CT) practitioners, a varied and high-intensity modality. Objective: to analyze the acute response of a self myofascial release (MPS) session associated with joint mobility (JM) exercises in ankle ROM in TC practitioners. Results: The measurements obtained using the goniometer were higher in the post-test (M=37.69; SD=4.107) when compared to the pre-test (M=31.66; SD=3.798) (t(31)= 29.678, p<0.001), with no statistically significant difference between genders (t(30)=0.447, p=0.658). Conclusion: The intervention used proved to be efficient with an average increase of 6.03 degrees between pre-test and post-test measurements.
