1. Los intervalos considerados por Morgan (1980) como óptimos para atletas de elite son:

T=(40-45)
D=(39-43)
A=(41-51)
V=(57-63)
F=(41-46)
C=(30-39)

2. Al comienzo de su trabajo Morgan et al. (1991) distingue el sobreentrenamiento de la fatiga, El primero es un proceso estimular a través del cual se busca una optimización, en general, de la condición física; en tanto que el segundo es un producto (o respuesta) del primero.

3. En cuanto a las denominaciones de los períodos de entrenamiento, se distinguen, el mono-ciclo que es el programa de entrenamiento de un año. El macro-ciclo es el período o bien de la temporada de invierno o la de verano. El microciclo son subunidades del macro-ciclo, pudiendo haber de 10 a 30.

4. A este incremento del número de lesiones hay que añadir, como señala Rotella(1990), las que se producen por una falta de motivación adecuada. Estas lesiones son observables en deportistas de alto nivel que no están en la elite o en los deportistas suplentes de los deportes de equipo.
